Anasazi ruins known as "White House Ruin" in Canyon de Chelly National Monument, Arizona, Southwestern USA. Square format. Black and white. Conte Crayon digital art. More Canyon de Chelley images and artwork can be found in my Canyon de Chelley Gallery.
Canyon de Chelly National Monument was established on April 1, 1931 as a unit of the National Park Service. It is located in northeastern Arizona within the boundaries of the Navajo Nation. Reflecting one of the longest continuously inhabited landscapes of North America, it preserves ruins of the early indigenous tribes that lived in the area, including the Ancient Pueblo Peoples (also called Anasazi) and Navajo. The monument covers 83,840 acres and encompasses the floors and rims of the three major canyons: de Chelly, del Muerto, and Monument. In 2009 Canyon de Chelly National Monument was recognized as one of the most-visited national monuments in the United States.
Travel-inspired (mostly) Fine Art & Photography published by the likes of Fodors, Travel+Leisure, Southern Living, Smithsonian, Forbes & TIME. I also use my images as source material to create digital art. We travel to places not just to see them, but to experience them. I take pictures to help me remember my experiences. My hope is that my imagery inspires experiential travel to places you might not have called on yet, or, if you have, helps you remember your own experiences. Thanks much for stopping by. Please feel free to direct any and all questions you might have to sobrien@TravelPixPro.com.
