Whitewashed exterior profile of Mission San Juan as seen through a brick wall window in San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, San Antonio, Texas, USA. More Missions photos can be found in my San Antonio, Texas gallery. Black and white.
Mission San Juan Capistrano was founded in 1731 by Spanish Catholics of the Franciscan Order, on the eastern banks of the San Antonio River in present-day Bexar County, Texas. The new settlement (part of a chain of Spanish missions) was named for a 15th-century theologian and "warrior priest" who resided in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The mission San Juan was named after Saint John of Capestrano.
Travel-inspired (mostly) Fine Art & Photography published by the likes of Fodors, Travel+Leisure, Southern Living, Smithsonian, Forbes & TIME. I also use my images as source material to create digital art. We travel to places not just to see them, but to experience them. I take pictures to help me remember my experiences. My hope is that my imagery inspires experiential travel to places you might not have called on yet, or, if you have, helps you remember your own experiences. Thanks much for stopping by. Please feel free to direct any and all questions you might have to sobrien@TravelPixPro.com.
