Description
Historic old facade window and chimney stack of the Cliff Palace Ballroom, circa 1937, in quaint seaside village of Ballycotton, Ireland, County Cork. Sepia. More Ballycotton imagery is available in my Ballycotton Ireland gallery.
Ballycotton is an Irish seaside resort village in County Cork, Ireland, located about 25 miles east of the city of Cork. Ballycotton, a popular fishing village, sits on a rocky cliff overlooking Ballycotton Bay and has a sandy beach that stretches for about 16 miles east to Knockadoon Head. The current village is actually a re-settlement of an older village which is now entirely underwater. Ballycotton experiences severe coastal erosion with metres of land crumbling into the sea every few years.
